Overview of the Polimec Protocol
Polimec is an innovative decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol whose core objective is to provide Web3 projects with a transparent, fair, and regulatory-compliant framework for fundraising, token issuance, and distribution. Built on the Polkadot (Polkadot) ecosystem, the protocol aims to address the challenges inherent in traditional financing models and offer new growth pathways for projects in the cryptocurrency space.

The concept of Polimec was first proposed by KILT Protocol in 2020 with the aim of enhancing liquidity and financing efficiency within the Polkadot ecosystem. Subsequently, the Polimec Foundation was established in 2022 to bring this vision to fruition. On May 20, 2024, Polkadot officially launched the Polimec decentralized financing protocol and initiated its first project evaluation round, marking the start of its operational phase.
Key features of the Polimec protocol include:
- Decentralized fundraising: The protocol employs a community-driven approach, allowing various stakeholders to participate in project funding rounds.
- On-Chain Credential (DID) Compliance: Polimec leverages decentralized identity (DID) technology and collaborates with organizations such as Deloitte to implement on-chain KYC/AML (Know Your Customer/Anti-Money Laundering) processes. This ensures regulatory compliance for fundraising activities while protecting user anonymity.
- Fairness and Transparency: The protocol has designed incentive mechanisms to align the interests of all parties, aiming to provide a more transparent and equitable funding environment for Web3 projects.

Functions and Roles of the PLMC Token
PLMC is the native utility token of the Polimec protocol and plays multiple key roles within the protocol’s ecosystem:
- Project Evaluation: PLMC holders can evaluate and vote on projects seeking funding by staking their PLMC tokens. These evaluations are critical to a project’s eligibility for funding rounds. Successful and accurate evaluators will have the opportunity to receive contribution token rewards from the evaluated projects, while participants who provide inaccurate evaluations or engage in malicious behavior may face token slashing.
- Fundraising Participation: Users who hold and lock their PLMC tokens gain the opportunity to participate in project funding rounds. Once qualified, they can use other cryptocurrencies (such as stablecoins) to participate in the actual fundraising.
- Network Staking: PLMC holders can delegate their tokens to collators to support the stable operation and transaction validation of the Polimec network through staking, and earn corresponding staking rewards.
- Protocol Governance: As a decentralized protocol, the PLMC token grants holders the right to participate in governance. Holders can vote on important issues such as the protocol’s future direction, the introduction of new features, and fund management, collectively determining Polimec’s path forward.
PLMC Token Economics and Market Performance

The total supply cap for PLMC tokens is 100 million (100,000,000 PLMC). According to the protocol design, this cap will remain unchanged for four years following the mainnet launch and may be adjusted in the future through on-chain governance.
As of this writing (July 22, 2026), there are significant gaps and inconsistencies in market data regarding the PLMC token.Multiple data sources indicate that PLMC’s circulating supply is currently zero. This suggests that the tokens may not yet be fully in circulation, or that their circulating supply is extremely low. Given a circulating supply of zero, any displayed price and trading volume data should be treated with caution, as they may reflect presale prices, over-the-counter (OTC) transactions, or quotes under conditions of extremely low liquidity. For example, some platforms show extremely low prices (such as $0.0008 USD), while the 24-hour trading volume is also negligible (such as $0.06 or $4 USD).Historical data shows that an article from December 2024 mentioned a token price of $0.165, but this is historical data and does not represent the current situation.
Due to the severe lack of circulating supply and market data, it is currently impossible to effectively assess PLMC’s market capitalization and market performance. Investors considering PLMC should fully understand its current market conditions and potential liquidity risks.

Polimec’s Role in the Ecosystem and Future Outlook
As a key component of the Polkadot ecosystem, Polimec is viewed as a driving force in improving the fundraising landscape for Web3 projects. Its unique approach to balancing decentralization with regulatory compliance—particularly its on-chain KYC/AML solution developed in collaboration with Deloitte—is considered a significant innovation within the industry.
Currently, fundraising projects on Polimec are primarily concentrated in promising sectors such as infrastructure, DeFi (decentralized finance), RWA (real-world assets), ESG (environmental, social, and governance), and gaming.Polkadot views the launch of Polimec as marking a new era in decentralized finance, highlighting its potential to enhance accessibility, foster community engagement, and ensure regulatory compliance.

However, as a relatively new protocol, the long-term development of Polimec and its native token, PLMC, still needs time to prove itself. Whether it can attract a sufficient number of high-quality projects and investors, as well as the market circulation and value discovery process of the PLMC token, will be key areas of focus in the future.
