Svmuu News: Jamf Threat Labs reports that Mac users searching for the open-source clipboard manager Maccy are being targeted by a fake version of the app, which installs PamStealer—a new Rust-based information-stealing malware—capable of stealing user passwords and encrypted wallet keys. The malware distributes disk images containing the malicious AppleScript file `Maccy.scpt` via lookalike websites and steals credentials after verifying the victim’s login password through macOS Pluggable Authentication Modules. Jamf also noted that ClickFix-style malware has been detected spreading via X-sponsored ads. These ads promote DynamicLake and redirect users to dynamicmacisland[.]com, tricking them into opening Terminal and executing installation commands; payload analysis reveals it to be a recent variant of Atomic MacSync Stealer.
