Svmuu News: According to a report in Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, following price increases for advanced processes, IC design companies have revealed that TSMC. also plans to raise foundry prices for mature processes starting in January of next year.Even so, in order to continue expanding their business scale, IC design companies will still strive to secure more foundry capacity for next year during upcoming negotiations.
IC design firms stated that in the first half of this year, a wave of price increases for mature-process services from packaging and testing companies and foundries other than TSMC led to higher IC production costs. They have already negotiated product price increases with clients. If TSMC confirms that it will also raise prices for mature-process services next year, they will inevitably have to negotiate further price increases with their clients. Clients, in turn, will seek to pass on these rising costs to their own customers, creating a chain reaction. (Jin Shi)
