Svmuu News: On July 20 local time, Yemen’s Houthi armed group issued an official statement announcing a maritime navigation ban against Saudi Arabia in response to what it called Saudi Arabia’s “unjust and brutal blockade and aggression.” The statement, issued by the Yemeni Armed Forces, took effect immediately upon its release. Citing religious scriptures, the statement detailed the comprehensive blockade of Yemen’s ports, airports, and land crossings imposed by Saudi Arabia over the past twelve years, asserting that it had “no legal or humanitarian justification” and had inflicted “unbearable suffering” on the Yemeni people. The statement also alleged that Saudi Arabia’s recent attack on Sana’a International Airport was “a blatant act of aggression in breach of trust.” (Jin Shi)
