The attackers briefly took the site offline and altered the content on the homepage, demanding a ransom of 5 Bitcoin.William Kabogo, Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy, stated that Kenya’s law enforcement agency, the ICT Authority, immediately activated its cybersecurity response protocol and will temporarily restrict public access to the portal.Officials stated that there is currently no evidence of unauthorized access to sensitive data, data breaches, or loss of information, and that government systems and digital services remain secure and operational.
