Svmuu News: Google recently launched three faster, lower-cost AI models, but its next-generation cutting-edge model, Gemini 3.5 Pro, has yet to be released. Meta’s Chief AI Officer, Alexandr Wang, posted on X regarding the fact that Meta’s Spark model outperformed the models Google released this week, writing, “Gemini who?”
OpenAI engineer Thibault Sottiaux also responded on X to a post by Google employee Logan Kilpatrick regarding the start of pre-training for Gemini 4, saying, “Hopefully it will be completed someday.” Google has not commented on the matter.
Raymond James analyst Josh Beck said the delay of Gemini 3.5 Pro has shifted public perception from Google being a leader to a laggard. Anshel Sag, an analyst at Moor Insights & Strategy, said it was “a bit strange” for Google to promote Gemini 4 before delivering Gemini 3.5 Pro.
