Svmuu News: AFX, a protocol in the Arbitrum ecosystem, was attacked at 5:30 a.m. Beijing Time on July 23. The attack targeted a cross-chain bridge operated by the protocol, and as of now, approximately 24.15 million USDC have been stolen. Blockaid stated that it is working with the Arbitrum team to respond to the incident, communicating with affected protocols, and assisting in freezing the stolen funds. Steven Goldfeder, co-founder of Offchain Labs, stated that the Arbitrum team has taken note of reports regarding the cross-chain bridge attack on Arbitrum and is investigating. Goldfeder confirmed that the relevant transactions originated from a third-party protocol; the native Arbitrum bridge was not attacked or exploited. He added that the team will coordinate with the third-party team and provide further details.
