Israeli Military Claims Hezbollah "Violated Ceasefire Agreement"
Svmuu News The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement on the 22nd, claiming that Hezbollah in Lebanon "violated the ceasefire agreement" and that the IDF would take action to "eliminate the threat." The statement said that Hezbollah launched a drone at IDF soldiers south of the "forward defense line" in southern Lebanon. The IDF stated that this incident "violated the ceasefire agreement" and that they had intercepted it. The IDF also stated they would continue to take action to "eliminate any threat to Israeli civilians and soldiers." In another statement issued the same day, the IDF said that during operations to dismantle armed infrastructure in multiple areas south of the "forward defense line," soldiers discovered weapons, including rocket launchers, ammunition, drones, firearms, and more. The IDF claimed these weapons and equipment were intended for use by Hezbollah militants to attack IDF forces. Furthermore, the IDF stated that the day before, two armed individuals were discovered in the Saluki area of southern Lebanon who had "crossed the forward defense line and approached IDF soldiers." The IDF claimed they posed a "direct threat," after which the Israeli Air Force launched an airstrike against the two, killing them. (Xinhua News Agency)
