Trump says unfreezing Iranian assets or lifting sanctions is not a prerequisite for an agreement
Svmuu reported that Trump said the blame for Iran's nuclear weapons development program should be placed on the previous administration. He pointed out that during the tenure of former U.S. President Barack Obama, a six-nation negotiating team reached an agreement with Iran, under which Iran would limit its nuclear weapons development activities in exchange for the international community easing sanctions and unfreezing some of Iran's frozen assets. Trump withdrew from the agreement during his first term. Trump stated that any agreement reached with Iran would not immediately unfreeze Iranian assets. Trump said, "That comes later. If they behave well and do a good job, only then will we start discussing these issues." (Jinshi)
