Swedish payment giant Klarna applies for a U.S. banking license
Svmuu News: Swedish payment giant Klarna has filed applications with U.S. federal and state regulators to establish “Klarna Bank USA,” an FDIC-insured banking subsidiary in Utah, which will enable Klarna to offer loans, deposits, and a broader range of financial services through its own banking system. Klarna launched its stablecoin, KlarnaUSD, late last year and is reportedly collaborating with Privy—Stripe’s wallet infrastructure platform—to jointly develop a crypto wallet for mainstream users.
