Svmuu News Tether is preparing to launch USDT natively on the Bitcoin network based on the RGB v0.11.1 protocol, with UTEXO responsible for its commercial issuance and distribution. This marks USDT’s return to the Bitcoin mainnet after many years, following its initial launch on Bitcoin via the Omni protocol in 2014.
UTEXO co-founder Viktor Ihnatiuk stated that the company has secured support from Tether and will be responsible for driving the implementation of native USDT on Bitcoin.According to the official announcement, the RGB protocol employs client-side verification combined with the Lightning Network, enabling instant, low-cost, and private USDT transactions while inheriting the security model of Bitcoin UTXO. In the future, users will be able to hold USDT directly via native Bitcoin addresses and send and receive it using RGB-compatible Lightning Network wallets.
