Svmuu News: Dylan Patel, founder of SemiAnalysis—a leading research firm specializing in semiconductors and AI infrastructure—recently gave an exclusive podcast interview in which he systematically outlined the key trends and investment logic in the current AI infrastructure stack.
Dylan emphasized that the storage market faces a structural shortage that will last for several years and still has 2 to 3 times upside potential; at the same time, although agents and reinforcement learning have driven up demand for CPUs, the seller’s market has priced them too high; CPU growth stems primarily from historical “catch-up,” and their absolute value in AI servers still pales in comparison to that of GPUs.
Dylan believes that the much-anticipated large-scale adoption of Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) has been explicitly delayed until late 2028 to 2029, unexpectedly extending the window of opportunity for copper cable connectors. (Jin Shi)
