Svmuu News: Bank of America released a report stating that, due to the closure of older plants resulting from technological upgrades, South Korea’s annual average wafer production capacity will grow at a rate of less than 10% in real terms—far short of the official target of doubling capacity by 2030. SK Hynix’s new memory production capacity by 2028 may amount to only one-sixth of what was originally planned. Furthermore, the construction and equipment installation cycles for Samsung and SK Hynix’s new large-scale wafer fabs in Gwangju and Jeolla are expected to be extended to a decade. (Jin Shi)
