Svmuu News: PlanB posted on X stating that he opposes the Bitcoin BIP-110 fork, arguing that its supporters fail to truly understand three key points: Bitcoin is a decentralized, anonymous asset; Bitcoin enthusiasts dislike spam even more than they do; and the reasons behind previous BCH fork failures.BIP-110 is a temporary soft fork proposal that plans to introduce seven new consensus restrictions over a period of approximately one year. These include limiting the length of new script public keys, capping the size of certain push data and witness entries, and disabling certain Taproot extension paths, all aimed at reducing the amount of arbitrary non-payment data that can be embedded in transactions, such as inscriptions and runes.
BIP-110 currently has a miner support rate of about 1%, which is below the 55% required for passage. The final outcome is expected to be revealed after the enforcement signal window opens around August 7–8.
