This ratio has risen by approximately 40 percentage points since April 2025, reaching the peak level seen during the 2021 meme stock craze; by comparison, the peak ratio prior to the 2008 financial crisis was approximately 120%.
Meanwhile, the total market capitalization of global stock markets rose to a record 166 trillion dollars this month. Of this, the U.S. stock market’s total market capitalization stands at approximately 77 trillion dollars, accounting for about 46% of the global total.
