Svmuu訊 Draper Associates 創始人 Tim Draper 表示，其早期未投資 Coinbase 的原因是判斷散户加密採用仍需較長時間，而非不認可 Coinbase 聯合創始人兼 CEO Brian Armstrong。
Tim Draper 披露，彼時其已投資早期比特幣公司 Coinlab，因此最初未投資 Coinbase；其子 Adam Draper 不同意該判斷，並向 Brian Armstrong 提供了第一筆支票。 Tim Draper 隨後參與 Coinbase 下一輪融資。Coinbase 後由 Brian Armstrong 和 Fred Ehrsam 創立並發展為加密平台，在納斯達克以 COIN 為股票代碼上市。
Tim Draper 表示，Coinbase 已成為 Draper Associates Fund V 的代表性投資之一，僅 Coinbase 帶來的回報幾乎使該基金整體規模翻倍。
