Svmuu News Hyperliquid founder Jeff Yan and his team members recently gave an exclusive feature interview to Colossos magazine.
In the interview, Jeff revealed that after leaving the quantitative trading giant Hudson River Trading in April 2018, he began building a prediction market-like project called Deaux, which allowed users to place bets on any event with an outcome, such as weather, elections, or sports events. Jeff tested a mechanism of "off-chain matching, on-chain settlement" in this project (Jeff believes this was an idea he and co-founder Scott Wu pioneered first), where funds would be stored in smart contracts controlled by code, but the user experience would remain fast and smooth. This approach aimed to preserve the decentralized promise of crypto while avoiding its friction costs.
However, Deaux ultimately had only 100 users and was completely abandoned as the market turned bearish.

Svmuu News The U.S. banking industry has raised questions about the White House's report on stablecoin yields, arguing that its conclusions are based on flawed premises. A research report from the White House Council of Economic Advisers stated that prohibiting stablecoin yields would have a minimal impact on bank lending, potentially increasing loans by only about $2.1 billion. Sayee Srinivasan, Chief Economist, and Yikai Wang, Vice President, of the American Bankers Association stated that the core policy concern is whether allowing stablecoins to generate yields would incentivize deposit outflows, particularly from community banks to larger institutions, thereby increasing funding costs and reducing local lending. The American Bankers Association acknowledged that the financial incentive to pursue higher-yielding stablecoins would prompt households and businesses to move funds out of banks. Currently, the crypto and banking industries are negotiating over provisions in a Senate bill, with the prohibition of stablecoin interest payments being a key point of contention.

Svmuu News Hyperliquid founder Jeff Yan and his team recently gave an in-depth feature interview to Colossos magazine.
During the interview, Jeff was asked about the biggest challenge he faced in 2025. He didn't mention the JellyJelly attack on JLP, nor competitors or bodyguards, but instead pointed to API server issues.
Throughout the summer, as Bitcoin broke through $100,000 and Hyperliquid's monthly trading volume exceeded $400 billion, the servers connecting market makers to the blockchain began to falter. With more and more institutions connecting, each sending massive volumes of orders, cancellations, and update requests, the infrastructure transmitting this data couldn't keep up. Orders that should have been executed instantly began experiencing delays of up to 3 seconds. The blockchain itself was not down, and user funds remained safe. But in a market where milliseconds decide outcomes, a 3-second delay was a serious problem.
Jeff said he barely slept normally for those weeks — falling asleep at 1:30 AM only to be woken up at 3 AM because the system had issues again. Ultimately, the team rewrote the entire server system from the ground up, and the new system withstood the test during the subsequent extreme 1011 market conditions.

Svmuu News Hyperliquid founder Jeff Yan and his team members recently gave an exclusive feature interview to Colossos magazine.
The founder of the Hyperliquid ecosystem project Trade.xyz (who requested anonymity) revealed that he purchased his first Bitcoin in 2013 at a price of $66 and has been active as an investor ever since, rather than a builder. He originally had no plans to start a business and stated that if not for Jeff, he might have already left the crypto industry.

Svmuu News Hyperliquid founder Jeff Yan and his team members recently gave an exclusive feature interview to Colossos magazine.
In the interview, Jeff revealed that in January 2024, they had engaged with potential investors. At that time, Jeff's condition was "only considering investment terms with a valuation reaching $1 billion." When an investor accepted this valuation, Jeff spent a weekend seriously contemplating but ultimately decided to reject it.
Including Hyperliquid's other co-founder iliensinc (responsible for managing funds) and other team members found it difficult to accept at the time. iliensinc had already been in fundraising discussions with the investors for two weeks prior. When Jeff called that fund, the other party also couldn't believe it, thinking he had just accepted terms from another institution.
Jeff gave an analogy in response: "Hyperliquid is not a company, but a protocol. 'Neutrality' has been a core philosophy from the very beginning. If Bitcoin had taken venture capital funding back in the day, it wouldn't have become the Bitcoin it is today; its entire value proposition would have been destroyed."

Svmuu News Hyperliquid founder Jeff Yan recently gave an exclusive feature interview to Colossos magazine. During the interview, Jeff and another co-founder of the company, iliensinc, discussed issues related to personal safety.
iliensinc revealed that Jeff is the only person on the team who does not use a pseudonym. Hyperliquid's office was initially located in a shared workspace in the financial district, but as Jeff's reputation grew, external attention towards them increased. It started with just some stares, with people trying to recognize Jeff's face; then strangers began approaching him to start conversations; later, someone followed him into the elevator of his apartment building. Consequently, Hyperliquid moved to a quieter location, a building where no one would think to look for them.
Jeff himself also moved to a more secure residence, hired bodyguards, and now travels with two private security personnel. iliensinc also repeatedly trains team members on how to respond if strangers ask where they work.

Svmuu News: People's Daily published an article titled "Disrupting the Capital Market: These Irregularities in Financial Self-Media Accounts Need Vigilance," which specifically named some accounts for using false profit claims such as "100x coins" and "earning millions by trading cryptocurrencies monthly" to attract traffic to virtual currency trading. The article once again cited a previous notice from the People's Bank of China and seven other departments, emphasizing that activities related to virtual currencies are illegal financial activities. It also pointed out that accounts and platforms providing traffic attraction and technical services for illegal virtual currency transactions are suspected of violating laws and regulations and may threaten financial security and anti-money laundering efforts.

Svmuu News: Trump reposted a Washington Post article, indicating that during a meeting with Iranian officials in Islamabad, the United States has ordered destroyers to the Persian Gulf to impose a military blockade on all traffic entering and leaving Iranian ports. This action aims to cut off Iran's oil exports and energy revenue. According to analysis by Miad Maleki, a former official of the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control, this move will cause Iran an estimated daily economic loss of about $435 million. Currently, the U.S. Navy is using the ceasefire period to clear mines laid by Iran, establishing safe passage for international escort missions. If Iran refuses to open the strait to all vessels, the United States will enforce passage through military force and prohibit Iranian-flagged ships from passing. Reports from the U.S. Central Command show that in prior military operations, the United States and Israel have destroyed 80% of Iran's air defense systems, 90% of its naval power, and 80% of its nuclear industry facilities.
