Svmuu News: As concerns over risks related to artificial intelligence intensify, investors’ bearish bets on the U.S. stock market are climbing to record highs, reflecting market skepticism about the sustainability of the current rally.
Data shows that short positions in S&P 500 components now account for nearly 3.79% of free-floating shares, marking the highest level since S3 Partners began tracking the metric in 2010. Meanwhile, the short interest ratio for Russell 3000 Index constituents recently rose to 6.3%, also setting a new record.
Previously, the S&P 500 Index had risen by approximately 18% since late March, driving the market higher. However, some investors are beginning to worry about whether the AI-driven rally in tech stocks is sustainable and whether the market faces the risk of a correction amid high valuations.
Analysts point out that the current sharp increase in short positions not only reflects investors’ concerns about the risk of an AI bubble, earnings expectations, and market concentration but may also serve as an important signal of heightened market volatility.
However, historical data shows that high short interest does not necessarily mean the market is about to fall. If corporate earnings continue to improve or AI investments yield better-than-expected returns, short covering could, in turn, drive the stock market higher. (Bloomberg)

Svmuu News: Bitcoin News posted on X stating that, according to a report by @EleanorTerrett, the CLARITY Act has not yet been scheduled for a full Senate vote, the legislative text has not been updated, and several key provisions are still under negotiation. Lawmakers will enter the August recess in 14 business days, and the biggest point of contention remains ethical issues; lawmakers are still negotiating rules to prevent government officials from profiting from digital assets. Some still hope for a vote this week, but many on Capitol Hill believe the window of opportunity is narrowing. If the bill is not brought to the Senate floor for consideration next week, the likelihood of its passage before the August recess will decrease significantly.

Svmuu News: Musk has completed the acquisition of mobile power generation company APR Energy, with the transaction valuing the company at a minimum of $1 billion. Documents show that Duos Technologies sold its 5% non-voting stake in New APR Energy, realizing a net gain of $50.4 million, which suggests the company’s overall valuation exceeds $1 billion. Headquartered in Florida, APR specializes in modular gas- and diesel-powered mobile power generation units with a total installed capacity exceeding 1 GW. Individual projects can be deployed in as little as 15 to 30 days, providing temporary and backup power for data centers.
Industry analysts suggest that this acquisition is intended to support the expansion of xAI’s computing clusters and reduce reliance on the public grid; however, the use of fossil fuels for power generation will also present trade-offs regarding carbon emissions, compliance, and long-term operating costs.
