What is CYBER?
CYBER is the native cryptocurrency token of CyberConnect, a decentralized social networking protocol. CyberConnect aims to address issues such as centralized control, data silos, the loss of creator value, and limited innovation found on traditional Web2 social media platforms, and is committed to building a decentralized social network where users own their digital identities, content, and social relationships.

CyberConnect achieves its vision through the following core components:
- CyberAccount: Provides users with self-managed Web3 accounts that serve as the foundation for their decentralized digital identities.
- CyberGraph: Records users’ identities, content, connections, and activities on-chain, forming a portable social graph.
- Cyber L2: Serving as a Layer 2 (L2) solution for Ethereum, it aims to provide high-performance, low-cost infrastructure for social applications and introduces Cyber Staking.

The CYBER token serves as both a governance and utility token within the CyberConnect ecosystem.
- Governance: CYBER token holders can participate in decision-making votes within the CyberDAO through staking, influencing protocol parameters, fund allocation, and the direction of the ecosystem’s development.
- Functional Applications: CYBER can be used to pay CyberID registration fees, smart wallet gas fees (across EVM-compatible chains such as Ethereum, Optimism, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Base, and Polygon), as well as various service fees within the ecosystem.
It is worth noting that, in addition to CyberConnect’s CYBER token, there is another cryptocurrency on the market called Cyber Coin (CYB). This token powers the CyberVein platform, a decentralized, open-source, blockchain-based data management and analytics platform. This article focuses primarily on CyberConnect’s CYBER token.
