Overview of the ALPACA Token and the Alpaca Finance Project
ALPACA is the native token of Alpaca Finance. Alpaca Finance was a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol built on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC), with core services including leveraged yield farming and lending. The ALPACA token is designed to serve multiple functions, including platform governance (where holders can participate in voting), rewards for liquidity providers and yield farmers, and deflation through a buyback and burn mechanism. The project was launched under a “fair launch” model, meaning there were no presales, investors, or pre-mining.

Project Termination and Major Impact on Token Value
However, the Alpaca Finance project experienced a major turning point in 2025, which had a decisive impact on the value of its ALPACA token. In April 2025, the major global cryptocurrency exchange Binance announced the delisting of the ALPACA token, a move that severely limited its liquidity and the ability to deploy capital.Shortly thereafter, in May 2025, the Alpaca Finance team officially announced that it would gradually wind down all product operations. According to the announcement at the time, the project planned to halt the opening of new positions in all liquidity pools in early June 2025 and automatically close all remaining active positions by June 3, 2025.The team stated that, in addition to the direct impact of the delisting from Binance, the increasingly fierce competition in the DeFi sector was also a key factor in their decision to shut down.
This means that, as of this writing (July 2026), the Alpaca Finance project has effectively ceased operations for over a year. For a DeFi protocol that has ceased operations, the utility and ecosystem support of its native token no longer exist, and thus its long-term investment value has also vanished.

Historical Performance and Current Status of the ALPACA Token
Following the announcement of its delisting from Binance in 2025, the price of the ALPACA token experienced severe volatility, plummeting by over 80% at one point, only to surge abnormally in the days that followed—a development that raised market suspicions of price manipulation. This extreme volatility, occurring against the backdrop of the project’s impending shutdown, further underscored its high-risk nature.

According to data as of July 26, 2026, the current price of the ALPACA token is extremely low, at around $0.0005. Its 24-hour trading volume is also only a few hundred dollars, with a market capitalization of approximately $80,000.The circulating supply is approximately 151.67 million ALPACA tokens, with a total supply of 188 million.ALPACA’s all-time high (ATH) was $8.78 (reached on March 5, 2021), while its all-time low (ATL) was recently recorded at $0.00028278 on July 6, 2026,reflecting the sharp decline in the token’s value following the project’s termination.
Investment Advice Regarding the ALPACA Token
Given that the Alpaca Finance project announced the termination of its operations in May 2025 and ceased services in June 2025, the ALPACA token has lost its original utility value and ecosystem support.Although market analysts had previously made optimistic predictions about its future price (for example, prior to the project’s termination, some experts predicted that ALPACA could reach $0.51 or higher by 2025 and several dollars by 2030), these predictions were all made under the assumption that the project would continue to operate normally. With the project’s termination, these historical predictions have become completely invalid and no longer hold any reference value.

Therefore, from a long-term investment perspective, the ALPACA token holds no investment value. Its current extremely low trading volume and market capitalization, coupled with the fact that the project has ceased operations, indicate that it has become a high-risk “dead project” token.Investors should avoid trading tokens from such defunct projects to guard against the potential risk of total principal loss.
