What is SFRXETH?
SFRXETH (Staked Frax Ether) is a core component of the Frax Finance ecosystem, a well-known decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol. It is a liquid staking derivative (LSD).SFRXETH is designed to allow holders to earn yields by staking Ethereum (ETH) while maintaining the liquidity of their assets. It is an ERC-4626-compliant vault token specifically designed to accumulate staking yields from Frax ETH validators.

How SFRXETH Works and Its Yield Mechanism
The Frax Ether ecosystem consists of two main tokens: frxETH (Frax Ether) and sfrxETH.frxETH is an ETH-pegged stablecoin, similar to holding ETH, and does not directly generate staking rewards on its own. sfrxETH, on the other hand, is the staked version of frxETH. When users deposit frxETH into the sfrxETH vault, they receive SFRXETH tokens.
What makes SFRxETH unique is its automatic compounding mechanism. As Frax Ether validators continuously generate staking rewards, an equivalent amount of frxETH is minted and sent to the SFRxETH contract. This causes the exchange rate between SFRxETH and frxETH to increase over time.In other words, users holding SFRXETH can eventually redeem more frxETH than they originally deposited, thereby achieving automatic yield accumulation.

This method of yield accumulation differs from some other LSDs (such as Lido’s stETH). While stETH typically reflects yields by daily rebalancing the holder’s token balance, SFRXETH achieves yield growth by increasing the intrinsic value of each token—that is, through the continuous improvement of its frxETH exchange rate.
Ecosystem Integration and Development
SFRXETH has garnered widespread attention in the DeFi space due to its innovation and yield potential. As early as January 2023, the Aave V3 Ethereum marketplace proposed listing SFRXETH, arguing that, as a yield-generating asset, it could serve as higher-quality collateral. As of this writing, SFRXETH has integrated with several other DeFi protocols, such as Pendle Finance and Origin Ether, providing users with more opportunities to leverage its yield potential.
The Frax Finance protocol itself is well-known for its fractional algorithmic stablecoin, FRAX. The launch of SFRXETH further expands its presence in the liquid staking space, offering new options to Ethereum stakers.

Trading and Acquiring SFRXETH
As an ERC-20 token, SFRXETH can be traded and acquired on decentralized exchanges (DEXs) and select centralized exchanges that support the Ethereum network.
- Decentralized Exchanges (DEXs): Users can find SFRXETH trading pairs on DEXs such as Curve (specifically on the Fraxtal and Ethereum networks) and Fraxswap (Fraxtal network), where SFRXETH/WFRXETH is a common trading pair.
- Centralized Exchanges: As of this writing, SFRXETH is available for trading on centralized exchanges such as BitMart and BingX. Before trading, users can check the latest prices and project information on market data platforms like Svmuu and verify the listing status on the respective exchanges themselves.
- Wallet Support: Users can add SFRXETH to Web3 wallets such as MetaMask for storage and management. By connecting these wallets to a DEX, users can conduct trades.
