Background and Founders of FTT
FTT is the native token of the FTX cryptocurrency derivatives exchange. The FTX exchange was co-founded by Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) and Gary Wang, both prominent figures in the crypto industry.Sam Bankman-Fried served as FTX’s co-founder and CEO, as well as CEO of the quantitative trading firm Alameda Research. Gary Wang was FTX’s co-founder and CTO, and also served as CTO at Alameda Research.

However, the FTX exchange filed for bankruptcy in November 2022. This event sent shockwaves through the entire crypto market and fundamentally altered the fate of the FTT token.
Current Status of FTT and the Impact of Bankruptcy Reorganization
Since FTX’s bankruptcy, the FTT token has largely lost its original utility as the exchange’s native token. Currently, there has been no update activity on the FTT token’s smart contracts, protocol functions, or developer repositories since November 2022. This means the token no longer has active development or ecosystem support.

FTX’s bankruptcy reorganization is still ongoing. As of September 2026, FTX has paid nearly $10 billion to creditors. Large creditors (with claims exceeding $50,000) are expected to receive the remaining 27.5% of their claims between October and December 2025.It is worth noting that the FTT token itself is not part of these creditor payouts. Therefore, while developments in the bankruptcy case may affect market sentiment, the FTT token will not gain any new utility or demand as a result.
Additionally, the 25-year prison sentence handed down to FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried was upheld by the appellate court on August 6, 2026. FTX is also actively pursuing asset recovery; for example, a lawsuit seeking $1.76 billion from Binance was approved by a judge on July 31, 2026.
FTT Market Performance and Value Outlook
As of September 13, 2026, the real-time price of FTT ranged from approximately $0.21 to $0.23, with a 24-hour trading volume between $847,300 and $3.68 million, and a market capitalization of approximately $69.85 million to $76.67 million. Its all-time high reached $85.01685 (on September 8, 2021), which stands in stark contrast to the current price.

Regarding the future value of FTT, current market information and analysis are generally cautious and do not support the notion that it is “about to skyrocket.”Given that FTX’s bankruptcy proceedings are still ongoing and the FTT token no longer has any practical use, price forecasts indicate a low value and potential volatility; some forecasts even suggest its price could approach $0.Technical indicators also present “mixed” signals for FTT’s outlook in 2026; investors are advised to thoroughly consider its fundamental factors and high risk profile before making any decisions.
