Introduction to FTX Token (FTT)
FTX Token (FTT) is the native utility token of the now-defunct cryptocurrency derivatives exchange FTX. The FTX exchange was founded by Sam Bankman-Fried and Gary Wang, with financial backing from Alameda Research. FTT was designed to provide utility within the FTX ecosystem and played a crucial role during its operation.
Initial Issuance and Listing Price of FTT

The issuance of FTT went through several stages, with its price changing accordingly:
- Initial Coin Offering (ICO) Price: The ICO price for FTT was $0.1502.
- Seed Round Price: In the seed funding round, the price of FTT was $0.15.
- Private Sale Price: FTT had two private sale rounds. Private Sale Round 1 was priced at $0.4, and Private Sale Round 2 at $0.7.
- Listing Price: FTT's initial listing price was approximately $1.73, with other records showing an early trading price of $1.74.
Issuance Time, Total Supply, and Funding
FTT tokens were issued via private sale on July 27, 2019, with an initial supply set at 350 million tokens. The FTX team set a lock-up period for FTT tokens to manage their circulation. According to public information, FTX Token raised a total of $1.73 billion through eight funding rounds. Of this, the seed round raised $7.5 million, corresponding to approximately 50 million FTT tokens, accounting for nearly 15% of the total supply.

FTT's Token Utility and Ecosystem
During FTX exchange's normal operations, FTT served as the core token of its ecosystem, offering various functionalities:
- Trading Fee Discounts: FTT holders could enjoy discounts on trading fees.
- OTC Trading Rebates: Holding FTT provided rebates for Over-the-Counter (OTC) trades.
- Margin for Futures Positions: FTT could be used as margin for futures trading on the FTX platform.
- Token Burn Mechanism: The FTX platform regularly burned FTT tokens, with funds for burning coming from one-third of platform fees, OTC trading rebates, and net income from the insurance fund.
FTX's Current Status and FTT's Market Risks

The FTX exchange faced a liquidity crisis in November 2022 and ultimately filed for bankruptcy protection, leading to the cessation of its operations. This event dealt a devastating blow to the value and market confidence of the FTT token. Although the FTX exchange has ceased operations, FTT tokens can still be traded on some cryptocurrency trading platforms. However, given that FTX's bankruptcy restructuring is still ongoing, the future value and liquidity of FTT tokens are highly uncertain, and investors should be fully aware of the immense risks involved.
FTT Trading Channels
As of now, FTT tokens are still circulating on some centralized trading platforms. Please note that due to the FTX exchange ceasing operations, the trading activity and price volatility of FTT tokens may be high. Please carefully assess the risks and verify trading channels independently.
