Introduction to Dollar On Chain (DOC) Stablecoin

Dollar On Chain (DOC) is a unique cryptocurrency with the core objective of serving as a decentralized stablecoin, maintaining a 1:1 value peg with the US dollar. Unlike many stablecoins that rely on fiat reserves or centralized institutions, DOC coin operates on the Rootstock network (a Bitcoin sidechain) via the Money On Chain protocol and is 100% collateralized by Bitcoin (in the form of rBTC).

This design aims to provide a trust-minimized and censorship-resistant stablecoin solution, allowing users to permissionlessly mint or redeem DOC tokens, thereby reducing reliance on the traditional financial system. The protocol also introduces a non-liquidation mechanism to address severe market volatility, preventing panic selling and forced liquidations.

How DOC Coin Works

DOC coin's operation is based on the Money On Chain protocol, which leverages the smart contract capabilities of the Rootstock network. Rootstock is a sidechain with a two-way peg to the Bitcoin network, meaning it can utilize Bitcoin's security while supporting smart contract functionality. The collateral for DOC coin is rBTC, which is Bitcoin pegged to Rootstock, locked within the Money On Chain protocol.

Users can mint DOC by locking rBTC and can also redeem DOC for rBTC. This mechanism ensures that the value of DOC coin is always backed by Bitcoin. Furthermore, the non-liquidation mechanism in the protocol's design aims to protect collateral from extreme market fluctuations, providing a degree of stability for BPRO holders (participants who provide collateral for DOC issuance and bear the risk of Bitcoin price volatility).
