The Security Council Holds a Ceremony as Bahrain and Four Other Countries Officially Assume Their Roles as Non-Permanent Members
On January 2, local time, a brief ceremony was held outside the United Nations Security Council Chamber to mark the official start of the 2026–2027 terms of Bahrain, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Latvia, and Liberia as non-permanent members of the Security Council, as they assume their responsibilities for maintaining international peace and security.
