According to information released by Kunming Changshui International Airport on the 3rd, in 2025, the airport handled a total of 340,000 flight movements, 49.69 million passenger trips, and 410,000 metric tons of cargo and mail, representing year-on-year increases of 3.3%, 5.3%, and 7.0%, respectively, with key operational indicators showing growth in both volume and quality. Notably, annual passenger throughput reached a record high. As a key hub airport for China’s connections to South and Southeast Asia, Kunming Airport focused on both expanding its international aviation network and enhancing its hub functions in 2025. Throughout the year, new and resumed international passenger routes—including Manado and Luang Prabang—as well as international cargo routes to Chennai and Mumbai were launched, bringing the total number of destinations in South and Southeast Asia to 33. The airport served approximately 1.2 million foreign travelers throughout the year, including over 434,000 visa-free entries, representing a year-on-year increase of more than 48.9%.
