According to statistics from Haikou Customs, on January 2, 2026, Haikou Customs supervised the sale of 159,000 items through Hainan’s duty-free shopping program for departing passengers, a year-on-year increase of 70.6%; the number of shoppers reached 33,000, up 77.6% year-on-year; and the total shopping amount was 254 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 156.6%.
