Russia claims to have taken control of a settlement; Ukraine claims to have destroyed Russian military equipment
The Russian Ministry of Defense issued a battle report on January 4 stating that Russian forces had taken control of the settlement of Podore in the Kharkiv region. Over the past day, Russian forces struck Ukrainian troops in multiple locations across the Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions, destroying Ukrainian armored vehicles, counter-artillery radar stations, electronic warfare systems, and ammunition depots, while also shooting down Ukrainian guided aerial bombs and drones. On the same day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released a battle report stating that 211 engagements had taken place along the front lines over the past day. Ukrainian forces struck multiple Russian troop and equipment concentrations and launched offensives or repelled Russian attacks in the Kupiansk and Pokrovsk sectors. Ukrainian forces also destroyed Russian targets including tanks, artillery, air defense systems, and drones. (CCTV News)
