Longfor Group has repaid a syndicated loan of HK$9.227 billion
Longfor Group prepaid its Hong Kong dollar syndicated loan in early December. The total amount of the syndicated loan was HK$9.227 billion (approximately RMB 8.5 billion), with an interest commencement date of December 21, 2020, and a term of five years. Starting in the third quarter of 2025, Longfor Group proceeded with the repayment of the remaining balance in phases and completed the early repayment in early December. This means that Longfor Group has fully repaid all of its 2025 public market debt, successfully navigating the peak debt period through sound financial strategies and orderly planning. In the view of industry insiders, Longfor’s successful navigation of the debt cycle holds positive implications for the sector. It signifies that traditional real estate developers burdened by legacy issues are capable of resolving historical problems internally and, through prudent and orderly planning and a long-term strategic approach, can participate in the exploration and implementation of new real estate models.
