Yang Xiuling, Director of the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, stated today that Beijing is thoroughly implementing the “AI+” Action Plan, actively promoting practical applications, and has begun to see the emergence of industrial cluster effects. By 2025, Beijing’s core AI industry is projected to reach 450 billion yuan in scale, with over 2,500 companies concentrated in the sector—both figures accounting for roughly half of the national total. Yang Xiuling noted that Beijing is home to nearly 60 listed AI companies and approximately 40 unicorn firms. The country’s highest-valued AI unicorn, the AI companies with the largest single-round funding in embodied intelligence and scientific intelligence, as well as the first domestically produced AI chip and large-model companies to go public, have all emerged in Beijing.
