At the 2026 Snow and Ice Tourism Development Conference held today in Harbin, the China Tourism Academy released the *China Snow and Ice Tourism Development Report (2026)*, which indicates that China’s snow and ice tourism is entering a new phase of sustained growth. Based on comprehensive estimates, it is projected that during the 2025–2026 winter season, the number of visitors to China’s winter tourism and leisure destinations will reach 360 million, with revenue expected to reach 450 billion yuan. The report indicates that China’s winter tourism has formed a new pattern characterized by “synchronized growth in the north and south, the rise of the central region, and coordinated development between the east and west.” In 2025, South China ranked first in heavy-asset investment in winter tourism, accounting for 30% of total investment with a total investment of approximately 30 billion yuan. The report indicates that by 2025, the scale of China’s snow and ice economy will exceed 1 trillion yuan, with more than 14,000 enterprises engaged in snow and ice tourism nationwide, representing a year-on-year growth rate of 11%.
