According to the China Railway Beijing Bureau Group Co., Ltd., the five-day New Year’s Day holiday rail transport period, which ran from December 31, 2025, to January 4, 2026, has concluded successfully. The Beijing Bureau of China State Railways transported a total of 6.481 million passengers, an increase of 749,000 passengers compared to the same period last year, representing a 13.1% rise, with an average daily volume of 1.296 million passengers. During the New Year’s holiday period, the Beijing Bureau of China State Railways arranged for the deployment of additional capacity in a phased manner by coupling high-speed trains and adding temporary passenger trains on peak routes. A total of 659 additional passenger trains were operated, including 469 originating and terminating within the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, with a focus on supplementing transport capacity to popular destinations such as Shenyang, Harbin, Zhengzhou, Qingdao, Hohhot, Zhangjiakou, and Shijiazhuang, to meet passenger travel demands.
