On January 5, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) convened a symposium to advance the interdepartmental work on the comprehensive system for preventing and punishing financial fraud in the capital markets. Wu Qing, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of the CSRC, presided over the meeting and delivered remarks. The meeting emphasized that the Party Central Committee and the State Council attach great importance to the stable and healthy development of the capital market. It is essential to fully recognize the profit motives and the long-term, complex nature of financial fraud, further strengthen confidence, enhance regulatory synergy, and continue to jointly shoulder the political responsibility of combating and preventing financial fraud in the capital market. The CSRC will continue to proactively collaborate with relevant departments to take more concrete measures to continuously enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the comprehensive prevention and punishment system. It will strive to improve the quality and investment value of listed companies, effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of investors, and make every effort to safeguard the high-quality development of the capital market, thereby contributing to the cause of Chinese modernization.
