Phillips 66, a U.S.-based integrated downstream energy provider and sustainable aviation fuel producer, announced that it has agreed to acquire the assets and related infrastructure of the Lindsey refinery in the United Kingdom. The transaction is subject to closing conditions, including customary regulatory approvals. The Lindsey refinery assets and facilities entered liquidation proceedings in June 2025, and Phillips 66 has served as the special administrator for the assets since the official receiver was appointed as liquidator. At the same time, Phillips 66 announced plans to integrate the assets into its Humber refinery operations. The company stated that, following a comprehensive evaluation during the bidding process, it has decided not to resume independent operations at the Lindsey refinery. The evaluation indicated that, due to its size, facilities, and production capacity, the refinery would struggle to operate sustainably under the current model.
