According to the latest survey by TrendForce, with the Chinese Lunar New Year approaching in February, the three major LCD TV panel manufacturers—BOE (Beijing Oriental Electronics), TCL CSOT (Huaxing), and HKC (HuiKe)—are all planning to implement five- to ten-day production halts at their back-end module factories to reduce labor costs and mitigate the risk of rising inventory levels. Front-end production lines will simultaneously reduce output. Overall LCD TV panel utilization rates in the first quarter are projected to decline by 3.5 percentage points quarter-on-quarter to 87.7%, shifting the supply-demand balance toward a tighter market.
