China's deepest offshore wind farm begins generating electricity
China Huaneng announced today that the Huaneng Shandong Peninsula North Offshore Wind Power Project, China's deepest offshore wind farm, has been connected to the grid and commenced power generation. This marks a new breakthrough for China's commercial offshore wind power in deep and distant waters. Located in the Muping sea area of Yantai, the Huaneng Shandong Peninsula North Offshore Wind Power Project has a total installed capacity of 504 MW and features 42 12-MW wind turbines. The project innovatively utilizes a four-pile jacket foundation structure, reaching a maximum height of 83.9 meters, the tallest of its kind in China. This effectively ensures the safe and stable operation of the wind turbines in complex geological environments in deep and distant seas.
