Donald Trump: I don’t need international law
Svmuu News: On Wednesday evening, U.S. President Donald Trump declared that, as Commander-in-Chief, his powers are limited only by his “own moral code,” dismissing international law and other checks and balances that restrict his ability to use military force, strike countries around the world, or invade or exert pressure on them.In a wide-ranging interview with The New York Times, when asked if his global authority was subject to any constraints, Donald Trump replied, “Yes, there is one thing for sure. That is my own moral code and my personal will. That is the only thing that can stop me.” “I don’t need international law,” he added.“I have no intention of harming anyone.” When pressed further on whether his government needed to abide by international law, Mr. Donald Trump replied, “Of course I will.” But he also made it clear that when these constraints applied to the United States, he would be the final arbiter. He stated, “It depends on how you define international law.”
