Hong Kong Sees Billion-Dollar Gold Heist, Police Arrest 5 and Recover 73 Kilograms of Gold Bars
Svmuu News According to a report from the Hong Kong Police, a gold heist occurred on March 20th at the Peninsula Plaza on Chong'an Street in Hung Hom, Hong Kong. The case involved 73 gold bars, each weighing 1 kilogram, with an estimated value of approximately HK$100 million. Police swiftly launched an investigation upon receiving the report, arresting five individuals (men and women) involved in the case and successfully recovering the stolen 73 kilograms of gold bars. The incident took place around 2:45 PM on the 20th. A man, posing as a buyer, was conducting a gold transaction with staff at a gold dealer located in an office building on Chong'an Street in Hung Hom. Suddenly, two men and a woman stormed into the office unit, claiming that the company's responsible person owed a huge debt. Together with the male "buyer," they took advantage of the chaos to collect the 73 gold bars on site, totaling about 73 kilograms, into a suitcase. (Southern Daily)
