MIIT: Risk Alert on Timely Updating Specific iOS Versions to Guard Against Vulnerability Exploitation
Svmuu News According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's Network Security Threat and Vulnerability Information Sharing Platform (NVDB), recent monitoring has discovered that attackers are using exploit tools targeting Apple's end products to carry out cyber attacks. These attacks can lead to severe consequences such as information theft and system compromise. The affected scope includes Apple end products like iPhones and iPads running iOS versions 13.0 to 17.2.1. Attackers induce users to visit web pages containing malicious code via Safari browser through methods like SMS, email, or web page poisoning. By comprehensively exploiting existing security vulnerabilities in the end devices, they implant remote control trojans into the victim's products, steal sensitive user information, obtain the highest privileges, and gain control. It is recommended that users of Apple end products conduct risk assessments and promptly fix the vulnerabilities by upgrading versions and installing patches. (Jin10)
