Trump Issues Another "Ultimatum," Oil Prices Rise
Svmuu News U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to strike Iran's energy facilities if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened, causing oil prices to rise at the market open. U.S. crude oil rose 1.3% to $113 per barrel. "Tuesday will be Iran's power plant day and bridge day, all at once. Absolutely unprecedented!!! Open the Strait immediately," Trump posted on social media early Sunday morning. Several hours later, he appeared to set a new deadline, "Tuesday, 8:00 PM Eastern Time!" Trump had issued a similar two-day ultimatum to Iran on March 21 but later extended the deadline to April 6. (CNN)
