Svmuu News: Chainalysis released a report stating that stablecoins processed $28 trillion in real economic activity in 2025, with a compound annual growth rate of 133% over the past three years. If this growth baseline is maintained, transaction volume could reach $719 trillion by 2035.

After incorporating two macroeconomic factors, the report further raised its forecast to $1.5 quadrillion. The first factor is intergenerational wealth transfer, with approximately $100 trillion expected to shift from baby boomers to millennials and Gen Z between 2028 and 2048. Chainalysis estimates this alone could add $508 trillion to stablecoin annual transaction volume by 2035. The second factor is infrastructure expansion, with stablecoin payments gaining access to point-of-sale terminals for offline merchants and e-commerce, which is expected to add an additional $232 trillion in annual transaction volume.

The report points out that if this forecast is realized, stablecoin transaction volume will exceed the combined value of global real estate, listed stocks, and government bonds, and the number of transactions could rival Visa and Mastercard by the mid-2030s. Standard Chartered Bank previously estimated that the stablecoin market capitalization would grow to $2 trillion by 2028; currently, the total stablecoin market capitalization is approximately $317 billion. However, this forecast is based on relatively aggressive assumptions, including the widespread use of stablecoins for daily payments by younger generations and the maintenance of a 133% annual growth rate for a decade.
