Svmuu News: Co-founder Ben Delo stated that he has donated approximately £4 million (about $5.1 million) to the UK's Reform UK party since the beginning of this year, aiming to support the party's development into a "genuine governing alternative." Delo did not disclose the form of the donation (fiat or crypto assets), but he also expressed support for the UK government's proposed moratorium on political donations in crypto assets, citing the high complexity of relevant regulations.
According to the latest guidance from the UK Electoral Commission, donations in crypto assets are currently still permitted but must be valued in pounds sterling at the time of receipt, and the identity of the donor must be verified. The UK government had previously announced an immediate pause on cryptocurrency political donations as part of measures to guard against foreign interference. Furthermore, in December 2025, another crypto-related investor, Christopher Harborne, also donated approximately £9 million to Reform UK. (CoinDesk)
