OpenAI Issues Announcement on Third-Party Library Security Incident: No Evidence Found of User Data Breach or System Intrusion
Svmuu News OpenAI stated that it identified a security issue involving the third-party developer library Axios, which is part of a broader industry incident. The company stated that no evidence has been found indicating that OpenAI user data was accessed, its systems were compromised, or its software was tampered with. Out of an abundance of caution, OpenAI is taking steps to protect the process used to authenticate its macOS application as a legitimate OpenAI app. The company is updating its security certification, which requires all macOS users to update the OpenAI application to the latest version. OpenAI stated that this will help guard against any risk, however small, of attempts to distribute counterfeit apps impersonating OpenAI. (Jin10)
