Svmuu reports that Aztec Labs has announced the acquisition of Obsidion, the development company behind the privacy identity verification tool ZKPassport. The core team of Obsidion will join Aztec Labs to continue advancing the development of ZKPassport and related privacy products.
According to the announcement, Obsidion co-founders Michael Elliot and Theo Madzou will join Aztec Labs. The transaction amount and other terms have not been disclosed. Aztec Labs also stated that it will continue to maintain the open-source nature of the ZKPassport protocol and its iOS mobile application, emphasizing its long-term commitment to privacy protection and an open ecosystem.
