SvmuuAccording to Cambodian media reports, 53-year-old Chinese real estate company owner Yang Weixin was kidnapped by three suspects in the parking lot of an apartment in Phnom Penh on the evening of May 29.
At 3 a.m. on May 30, the suspects used the victim's phone to send a message to his wife, demanding a $2 million cryptocurrency ransom. Because the family failed to pay, the suspects beat and suffocated the victim. At 11 a.m. that day, the victim's body was found in the back seat of a Toyota Prius in a wasteland in Langko District. The suspects sent a final message at nearly 9 a.m. saying "that's it" and then went missing. Police have launched an investigation. (kohsantepheapdaily)
