Yonhap News: South Korean Retail Investors Borrow Money to Buy Stocks at Rock-Bottom Prices
Svmuu reported that, according to Yonhap News Agency, the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) experienced a sharp two-day correction, influenced by bearish news from U.S. stocks and a plunge in semiconductor stocks. During this period, the balance of overdraft accounts at major commercial banks increased by over 600 billion won (approximately 2.67 billion yuan). Analysts believe this indicates that retail investors, anticipating a market rebound after the stock price crash, have begun using overdraft accounts for "leveraged investing." (Jin Shi)
