Svmuu News: According to CNN, Iran said Monday that it would continue to cooperate with the United Nations nuclear watchdog “in accordance with existing procedures.” This came after senior U.S. officials claimed that Tehran had agreed to allow International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors to return to Iran, a claim Iran refuted.
The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), citing Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Baghaei, reported that Iran’s interactions with the IAEA would proceed “in accordance with Iran’s obligations under the Safeguards Agreement” and “in line with resolutions passed by the parliament and decisions of the Supreme National Security Council.” Earlier, U.S. Vice President Vance stated at a press conference in Switzerland that Iran had agreed to allow IAEA inspectors to enter the country.
