Lee Jae-yong: Samsung Accelerates Chip Production Expansion; Gwangju to Become a Memory Chip Hub
Svmuu News: Samsung Group Chairman Lee Jae-yong stated, “This is a race against time.” He added that the updated plan accelerates Samsung Electronics’ efforts to build chip factories in the Seoul metropolitan area. According to the plan, Gwangju in southwestern South Korea will be developed into a new memory chip manufacturing hub, while Cheonan and Anyang will be established as high-bandwidth memory (HBM) packaging centers. Additionally, Samsung Electronics plans to deploy humanoid robots at its chip plant in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, and increase related investments. (Jin Shi)
