MoonPay Apologizes for False Report of Influencer MooDeng’s Death, Which Caused Market Concerns: “AI Intern” Test Failed
Svmuu News: Cryptocurrency payment company MoonPay posted on X stating that it had mistakenly published a tweet announcing the death of the internet-famous hippo MooDeng. The incident stemmed from a test conducted as part of its “AI Intern V1.0” program; however, the outcome was undoubtedly a failure. The project still requires further optimization; related testing has now been suspended, and the system has been “sent back for repairs.” MoonPay confirmed that the internet-famous hippo MooDeng is currently doing well—"still chubby, happy, and very healthy"—and apologized for any false alarms and market concerns the incident may have caused. The company also noted that this incident highlighted issues with the AI agent project that need to be addressed before its official launch; the relevant tweets have been deleted.
