Svmuu News, July 13, Tokyo: At WebX 2026, hosted by Coinpost, Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee delivered a keynote speech titled “Ethereum: The Antidote to the Valley of Fear.”He outlined Bitmine’s first-year achievements, including: accumulating 5.74 million ETH (4.8% of the total supply), launching MAVAN (the largest single staking operator),the “Moonshot” investment program (strategic investments in ecosystem projects), a partnership with EF 2.0 (non-commercial in nature), the inaugural issuance of ETH preferred shares (currently yielding a lower return than MSTR), listing on the NYSE main board, and inclusion in the Russell 1000 Large-Cap Index.
Bitmine’s future plans include: gradually accumulating ETH to 5% of the supply (Vitalik does not want any single entity to hold more than this threshold), funding EF spin-off projects, identifying and investing in crypto-finance unicorns, and strengthening the Ethereum ecosystem.
Meanwhile, Tom Lee envisions ETH entering its 2.0 phase—“ETH is money”—stating that “under the leadership of the new foundation, ETH is poised to become the settlement layer of the AI era.”
Tom Lee: Before the ETH 2.0 era, Bitmine will gradually accumulate ETH until it holds 5% of the total supply
